How Country & Currency Behavior Works in WatheeqaHR

Each company in WatheeqaHR has a country setting (UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar or Oman) chosen when the company is created. This single setting drives the currency shown throughout the app, the decimal precision used (3 decimals for Kuwaiti dinar, Bahraini dinar and Omani rial; 2 for the others), the overtime calculation method, and the end-of-service formula — you don't configure these separately.

Steps

  1. Set the company's country at creation

    A company's country is set when it's created and determines every country-specific calculation from that point on.

  2. Check the currency shown across the app

    Salary lines, payslips, and reports automatically display amounts in the company's currency with the correct number of decimal places.

  3. Understand overtime differences

    UAE companies use a configurable multiplier on the hourly rate. Companies in other supported countries use that country's own legally-specified rate and divisor where WatheeqaHR models it.

Frequently asked questions

Can a company's country be changed after creation?
Changing a company's country changes every downstream calculation for that company (currency, overtime, end-of-service) — contact support before changing an existing company's country so historical records aren't misinterpreted.
Does the currency setting under Settings do anything?
No — the currency displayed throughout the app is always derived from the company's country, not from a separately editable field.
Are all six countries equally complete?
No. The UAE has the most mature, final calculations (including the WPS SIF export). The other five have country-aware currency, leave and payroll support, but end-of-service, overtime and statutory-contribution figures are labeled estimates for HR/accountant review.
