HR managers, owners and accountants finalizing an employee's end-of-service payout

Understanding End-of-Service Estimates in WatheeqaHR

WatheeqaHR calculates an end-of-service figure automatically based on the employee's company country, join date, and final salary. For UAE companies this follows Federal Decree-Law 33/2021; for Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman it follows each country's own labor law. Every country's figure — the UAE included — is a labeled estimate: always have your HR team or accountant confirm it before paying it out.

Steps

  1. Open the employee's profile

Go to Employees and select the employee whose end-of-service you need to calculate.

  2. Check the country the calculation follows

The formula used is determined by the employee's company country, shown on the profile and on the calculation itself.

  3. Review the calculation breakdown

WatheeqaHR shows the formula components (years of service, applicable salary base, and the country-specific rate tiers) rather than just a final number.

  4. Confirm before final settlement

Treat the figure as a starting point in every country, including the UAE — confirm it with your HR team or accountant before including it in the employee's final settlement.

Frequently asked questions

Is the end-of-service calculation final or an estimate?
It's a labeled estimate for every supported country, including the UAE. UAE end-of-service (Federal Decree-Law 33/2021) is calculated directly from the law itself; Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman are based on secondary-sourced interpretations of each country's labor law rather than a government-verified calculator — but none of these six is a certified, final figure.
Why is Bahrain's estimate flagged differently?
Bahrain's end-of-service and statutory-contribution figures are sourced only from secondary references and don't yet model the contribution-scheme transition that took effect in March 2024 — treat this estimate with extra caution and confirm directly with your accountant.
Does Qatar have a statutory contribution like the others?
No. Qatar's GRSIA scheme applies only to Qatari and GCC-national employees and is not modeled in WatheeqaHR — no statutory-contribution figure is shown for Qatar.
Can I rely on the estimate for legal or tax reporting?
No. These are internal calculated estimates for your own review, not certified or government-verified figures — WatheeqaHR is not a legal or tax advisor.
