How to Set Up Your Work Calendar in WatheeqaHR

Go to Settings > Work Calendar and set your shift start/end time, weekly off days, and public holidays before your first attendance import. WatheeqaHR uses this calendar to decide who was late or absent — importing before confirming it can produce wrong numbers that feed into payroll.

Steps

  1. Open Settings > Work Calendar

From the sidebar, go to Settings, then select the Work Calendar tab. Only owners, admins, HR and accountants can see this tab.

  2. Choose your weekly off days

Select the days your company does not work (e.g. Friday-Saturday, or Sunday only). Unselected days will not count as absences.

  3. Set shift start and end time

Enter your standard shift, e.g. 09:00 to 18:00. If your company uses flexible hours instead of a fixed shift, switch the schedule mode to Flex Window or Hours Only.

  4. Add public holidays

Add UAE public holidays (National Day, Eid, etc.) so they are excluded from absence counts on those dates.

  5. Save

Saving confirms your calendar. WatheeqaHR will now unlock attendance import — you'll see a green banner confirming the active schedule on the Attendance page.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I import attendance yet?
WatheeqaHR blocks the first import until you confirm your work calendar, so late/absence numbers aren't calculated against default placeholder hours.
What if my company works 7 days a week?
Select all seven days as working days — no day will be treated as a weekly off.
Can I change the calendar later?
Yes, at any time from Settings > Work Calendar. Changes apply to future imports and recalculated reports.
