HR managers with ZKTeco sites
Know which columns the monthly export needs before the first import, and what a State refusal means.
To get a ZKTeco attendance report into Excel, export the attendance log from your ZKTeco software as Excel or CSV and upload it to the free WatheeqaHR analyzer. The header shape our tests cover is AC-No., Name, Date, Time, State. WatheeqaHR reads AC-No. as the employee ID and State as the in or out marker, then builds a lateness, missing-punch and absence report. It reads the exported file and never connects to the device.
The automated tests resolve this exact header row for a ZKTeco BioTime-style export: AC-No., Name, Date, Time, State. A second test adds a Machines Name column to it and checks that the analyzer still takes Name, not Machines Name, as the employee name, in either column order. Menu names change between ZKTeco software versions. Our attendance import guide points to Reports > Attendance with CSV export, so start there, and otherwise look for the attendance or transaction export.
AC-No. becomes the employee ID: it is the first pattern the ID detector tries, ahead of looser names. Name becomes the employee name. Date and Time together give the punch timestamp. State is read as the direction of the punch, and recognised values include Check In, Check Out, C/In, C/Out, Overtime In, Overtime Out, 0 and 1, where 0 means in and 1 means out. Letter case does not matter.
Some ZKTeco XLS exports put the full date and time in the Time column. The analyzer detects that and reads it as one timestamp, so leave the column as exported. Splitting it into two columns or reformatting it in Excel before upload only adds a step that can go wrong.
A State value outside the recognised list is not guessed as a check-out. The file is refused with 'Unknown punch-direction codes' and asks for explicit In and Out values. A break-style label would land here, because it is not in the list. If State holds only verification methods such as FP, Face, Card or Password, or is blank, the column is ignored as a direction and the first punch of each day counts as check-in and the last as check-out.
Upload the original file, keep it to one month and under 5 MB, and use the file preview to see the columns and rows the export really contains. If the employee column is not recognised the refusal lists the columns it found, which makes the mismatch easy to spot.
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| AC-No. | Employee ID. Matched before looser names such as a bare number column. |
| Name | Employee name. An exact Name match wins over Machines Name, whichever column comes first. |
| Date | Punch date, read together with Time. |
| Time | Punch time. If it holds the full date and time it is read as one timestamp. |
| State | In or out marker. Recognised: Check In, Check Out, C/In, C/Out, 0, 1 and similar. Unknown codes refuse the file. |

Turn the raw attendance log into an Excel report for review without retyping punches.
Export the attendance or transaction report from your ZKTeco software as Excel or CSV, then upload it to the free analyzer and download the result as an Excel report. Menu names vary by version, so look for the export option on the attendance report. WatheeqaHR reads the file and does not connect to the device.
An employee ID such as AC-No., a date and time for each punch, and ideally a State column for direction. Without State, the first punch of the day is check-in and the last is check-out.
No. A blank State column, or one holding only verification methods like FP, Face, Card or Password, is ignored as a direction. The first and last punch of each day then decide check-in and check-out.
The State column holds a value outside the recognised in and out codes. Re-export with clear In and Out values, or open a copy and replace the unusual values.
No. The analyzer detects layouts from column names, and this page covers the header shape our tests use. Real exports vary by device, software version and language, so test your own file.
