Free UAE WPS SIF File Checker

Drop in a .SIF file (or paste its text) and see line-by-line errors and warnings before you send it to your bank or exchange house. The check runs in your browser: the file is not uploaded and WatheeqaHR never receives it.

WatheeqaHR does not submit WPS files to a bank, exchange house or MOHRE. Passing this check does not mean your bank will accept the file. It only means the file matches the format rules that WatheeqaHR's own SIF generator follows.

What this checker verifies

  • Record types: EDR for each employee, exactly one SCR, and the SCR on the last line.
  • Field counts: ten fields on every EDR and every SCR (the tenth SCR field, an employer reference, may be empty).
  • Identifiers: a 14-digit MOL id and a 9-digit routing code on each EDR, a 13-digit establishment id and a 9-digit routing code on the SCR.
  • Accounts: an IBAN must pass the mod-97 check digits. A value that is not IBAN-shaped is flagged as a warning, because WatheeqaHR allows it only for an exchange-house payroll-card account.
  • Dates and days: pay start and end are real YYYY-MM-DD dates, the end is not before the start, and the days field equals the inclusive calendar days between them.
  • Amounts: fixed and variable income are plain decimals with two places (4500.00), not zero-padded fils, and a record cannot pay nothing.
  • SCR: creation time HHMM, salary month MMYYYY, currency AED, an EDR count equal to the real count, and a total equal to the sum of all EDR fixed and variable income.
  • Layout: comma separators (not pipes), no blank lines, CRLF line ends, and a final line terminator. The file name pattern (establishment id, YYMMDDHHMMSS, .SIF) is a warning only.

What this checker cannot tell you

  • Whether your bank, exchange house or MOHRE will accept the file. Banks can differ in what they accept, so confirm with yours.
  • Whether the routing code, MOL id or establishment id actually exist or belong to the right person or company. Only their shape is checked.
  • Whether the salary amounts are right for each employee. The checker compares the file with itself, not with a payroll.
  • EVP (variable pay detail) records. WatheeqaHR does not write them and does not validate them.
  • Anything outside the UAE. WPS SIF is UAE-only here; WatheeqaHR has no equivalent export for Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar or Oman.

Questions

Is my SIF file uploaded?

No. The file is read and checked in your browser and is not sent to WatheeqaHR or anyone else. Closing the tab discards it.

Does WatheeqaHR submit my WPS file?

No. WatheeqaHR can generate a UAE WPS SIF export from an approved salary period, but you submit it yourself through your bank, exchange house or payroll provider.

My file passed. Will the bank accept it?

Not necessarily. Passing means the file follows the format rules WatheeqaHR's generator follows. Your bank or WPS agent has the final say, so confirm with them.

Can I check a file that did not come from WatheeqaHR?

Yes. The checker reads any SIF text in the EDR and SCR layout. Rules it does not know about are not checked, so a pass says less for a file from another system.

Why is a non-IBAN account only a warning?

WatheeqaHR pays some employees through an exchange-house payroll card, whose identifier is not an IBAN, so a value that is not IBAN-shaped is allowed but flagged. A value that looks like an IBAN and fails its check digits is an error.
